Item 15 of 25

Psalm 118 - reproduction on art poster

€ 48,00

Explanation:

Two columns stand at the entrance of the temple Solomon built.

He named the right pillar 'Jachin' (God establishes), and the left one ' Boaz' (in Him is strength).

These two columns carry the cornerstone which the builders rejected.

On the stone is written in Hebrew: Jeshua ('Jahweh saves') which is the name for Jesus.
The two columns and the cornerstone form a narrow gateway through which the righteous enter.
In the psalms David frequently compares his enemies to 'bird catchers' who cast nets for the righteous, here symbolised as small and vulnerable creatures.

Psalm 118

Open for me the gates where the righteous enter, and i will go in and thank the Lord. These gates lead to the presence of the Lord, and the godly enter there. I thank you for answering my prayer and giving me victory!

The stone that the builders rejected has now become the cornerstone. This is the Lord's doing, and it's wonderful to see.

Please Lord, save us, please Lord, please give us success. Bless the one who comes in the name of the Lord. We bless you from the house of the Lord. The Lord is god, shining upon us. Take the sacrifice and bind it with cords on the altar.

You are my God and I will praise you! you are my God and I will exalt you!
